Manage Your Open24 Password

I've forgotten my Open24 password

If you have forgotten your Open24 password, call our 24/7 automated phone service on 0818 502 424 or +353 1 2124101 and follow the instructions provided. Before you call us, here's what to expect: 

  1. Make sure you have access to a laptop or PC, as your temporary password needs to be updated through the Open24 online banking website. This cannot be done within the PTSB app.
  2. Be ready to enter your Open24 number (the 10 digit number on your bank card) and your Personal Access Number.
  3. You will be given a new temporary password which takes approx. 5-10 minutes to activate, and will expire within 30 days.
  4. Using a desktop or a laptop computer, login to the Open24 desktop website by entering your temporary password.
  5. You will then be asked to enter 3 digits of your Personal Access Number.
  6. Then follow the remaining instructions on screen carefully.

Once you've logged into your Open24 online banking account using your temporary password, you will be immediately prompted to create a new password. Check out our guide on how to create a strong password

I want to change my password through the Open24 website

To change your password through the Open24 online banking website, watch our step by step video tutorial below or follow these steps:  

    1. Log in to the Open24 online banking website.
    2. You will then be asked to enter 3 digits of you Personal Access Number (PAN).
    3. Select 'Other services' on the left hand side menu. 
    4. Select 'View more' under the 'Do more' section. 
    5. Then select 'Update now', under 'Update your contact details'
    6. From here, select 'Change your password'
    7. Once you've received confirmation on screen that your password have been updated, you can continue your online banking as normal. 

I want to change my password through the PTSB app

To change your password through the PTSB app, your mobile device will need to be the one registered to your Open24 account. Follow these steps:

  1. Log in to the PTSB mobile and tablet app.
  2. Select ‘Settings and Security’ via the main menu.
  3. Select ‘Reset or Create Password’ on the next screen.
  4. Enter your new password and select ‘Continue’.
  5. Once you've received confirmation on screen that your password have been updated, you can continue your online banking as normal.

I'm locked out of my Open24 account

If you are locked out of your Open24 account, you will need to follow the same steps as if you have forgotten your password. Rules for creating a strong password

Follow these specific rules to create a strong Open24 password:

  • Must be between 8 - 32 characters long.
  • Contain at least one lower-case character.
  • Contain at least one upper-case character.
  • Contain at least one number.
  • Not contain more than two identical characters in a row.

You can also use spaces and special characters in your password such as £££££££$%^&*()-_=+'''~~~~~\\\\\\\|.
