Introducing our new look cards

At PTSB we’re evolving for a better banking experience for you. The next step in our evolution is to modernise and launch our new look digital and physical banking cards.

Here’s what to expect:

1. New look card in your Digital Wallet

Your Digital Wallet on your phone will update with your new look Visa Debit Card. You don’t need to do anything; the card will update in your Digital Wallet automatically and you can continue to use the card in the same way as before. Your card number, expiry date, CVV and Open24 numbers all remain the same.

If you’re setting up a new card for the first time, or a card that is not currently in your Digital Wallet, you will also see the new look cards.

Please ensure that your card is activated prior to setting it up in the Digital Wallet. It’s easy to activate your Contactless Visa Debit Card. Just do any one of the following:

Important information

Updated digital cards include Personal Debit (including cards linked to our teen and student accounts) and Business Debit Cards. Existing Credit Cards will update with a new look at a later date.

2. Our Physical Cards are changing too

From June 2024 we will start to issue new look physical cards which include design features built on a better understanding of our customers, further enhancing card usability and accessibility.

New physical card features include:

  • Printed card information: We’ve listened to customer feedback and our new cards have printed card details instead of embossed details, such as the long card number, expiry date and CVV.
  • All personal details now on the back of the card: Moving all the card details to the back of the card keeps the information in one place, making it easier to read.
  • An accessibility notch.

How will the new physical cards roll out?

We will start to issue new look physical Debit and Credit Cards on a phased basis from June 2024 to:

  • New PTSB customers
  • Existing PTSB customers
    • When your old card reaches its expiration date
    • Replacing a card due to the existing card being reported lost, stolen, or damaged.

What do I need to do when I get my new physical card?

When you receive your new card, you will need to activate it and update any card-based payments or subscriptions that you may have as you will have a new card expiry date and CVV number.

Important information

If you are adding your new card to Apple Pay or Google Pay for the first time, it is important to activate your new card before you add it to your Digital Wallet.

It’s easy to activate your Contactless Visa Debit Card. Just do any one of the following:
