Safeguard your valuables outside the home with “All Risks” Cover

Get added peace of mind by protecting your gadgets and personal belongings both inside and outside your home with our “All Risks” Cover option. These optional extras provide cover for items normally brought outside the home such as handbags and smartphones.

There are 2 types of “All Risks” Cover that can be added to your policy: 

Unspecified “All Risks” Cover: this is an umbrella style cover which allows you to select an amount that your personal belongings will be covered for in the event of a loss. The amount you insure your belongings for should be based on the maximum combined cost of all the valuables that you (or any member of the household) stand to lose at any one time. There’s no need to list each item individually. This cover is designed for items such as glasses, iPads and handbags etc. You can also cover your mobile phone, so no need to pay for expensive phone insurance with your phone bill!

No excess applies to certain items such as money, clothing, personal belongings, and sports equipment.

Certain limits apply to Unspecified “All Risks” Cover including: €2,540 for any one item, and bicycles up to a limit of €320 in any one period of insurance.

Specified “All Risks” Cover: with this option you list each item individually on your policy, and specify its value. Specified items normally include jewellery, hearing aids, bicycles, cameras and other valuables. Each item is covered up to the amount you insure it for. No excess applies to any specified items, meaning you don’t have to pay the first part of any claim yourself.

Important Information

Standard acceptance criteria, terms and conditions apply. To obtain a quote you must meet the following qualifying criteria:

  • Only 1 previous claim, up to €15,000 in the last 3 years
  • Your building must be built of brick, stone or concrete (timber frame with brick cladding ok) and roofed with slates, tiles, metal, concrete or asphalt (at least 70%)
  • You must not be located in an area of flood or subsidence. If you are in a flood or subsidence area you can visit one of our branches or call us to obtain a quote
  • Your property must be constructed of brick, stone or concrete (including timber frame with concrete brick external cladding)
  • Property must be at least 70% roofed with slates, tiles, metal, concrete or asphalt.
  • Your property cannot be a listed or graded building
  • The property is not used for any business, trade or professional purpose
  • Your property must be in a good state of repair and will be so maintained
  • Your property must be less than 125 years old

Premium reductions are applied on a reducing balance basis and are all subject to minimum premiums, inclusive of Government levy, as follows: Buildings Cover €135; Contents Cover €105; All Risks Cover €12.60.

Please note that an excess will apply. This is the first amount of any loss that you are responsible for in the event of making a claim. The amount is deducted from the total claim settlement figure.
