Applying for a Digital Current Account has never been easier

Thanks for choosing to open an Explore Account with permanent tsb.

The first step is to download the permanent tsb app using the links below. You’ll then be guided through the application steps in the app, and you can use the self-service area in the Branch to photograph your ID documents and take the perfect selfie.

Ready to apply?

If you are over 18, a resident in the Republic of Ireland, physically located in Ireland at the time of application** and looking to open a sole Current Account, you can apply today!

  • New or existing permanent tsb customer opening a Sole Current Account in your own name
  • New permanent tsb customers opening a Joint Current Account*

*If one or both of you are already customers with permanent tsb, you will need to attend a permanent tsb branch to open your account. We are working hard to bring joint Current Account opening to the app for our existing customers soon. Speak to our team in branch today or book a branch appointment for a future date. 

**As per our eligibility criteria, we require your permission to determine your device location at the time of application. This information will be obtained at initial application stage with your permission on a once off basis and will not be used for any other purpose.

Top Tip!

If you are a new PTSB customer (i.e. you do not yet have any products with PTSB) and you need to open both a sole and Joint Current Account, open your Joint Current Account in-app first. You can then return to the app as an existing customer and open a sole account.

You're in control of your fees

With the Explore Account you’re always in control of what you pay with a flat €6 monthly fee for maintaining the account. There are no day-to-day transactions or contactless fees for using your Visa Debit Card or for other things like Direct Debits and Standing Orders.

There may be other charges for things like Government Stamp Duty on your debit card unpaid items, or if you use an ATM outside the Eurozone.

You can access your eStatements anytime and anywhere online through Open24 for a period of 24 months from the statement issue date. We recommend you download and save your eStatements to your personal device to ensure future ease of access.

You can keep track of your 10c cashback total during the month on Open24 Online Banking and your total will be credited to your Explore Account at the start of each month. Please note, that pending transactions must be processed by the Merchant before qualifying for 10c back as you pay and this may affect your monthly Rewards Total.

Your Cashback on Bills will be credited to your Explore Account at the start of each month and you can keep track of this on Open24 Online Banking.
