Features and Benefits

  • Easy management: Access your account through Open24 Online Bankingthe PTSB App, or in your local branch, helping you manage your savings from anywhere. 
  • Flexible withdrawals: Enjoy the freedom to withdraw your funds at any time - just make sure to give us 40 days’ notice.
  • No minimum or maximum balance: Save as much, or as little as you wish without worrying about minimum and maximum balances. 
  • Withdrawal options:
    • You can withdraw your money at any time, but remember to give us 40 days notice to avoid an early withdrawal charge.
    • Notice can be applied through Open24.ie, Open24 Telephone Banking, the PTSB App and in branch.
    • Once this notice period has elapsed you have up to 30 calendar days in which to make the withdrawal without charge.
    • Withdrawals can only be made to a PTSB Current Account or a Demand Deposit Account.
  • Annual Equivalent Rate (AER): A preview of how much interest you could earn each year if you kept your money in the account for a full year and the interest rate didn't change. 
  • Deposit Interest Retention Tax (DIRT): A tax payable on the interest you earn from your Savings or Deposit Account. It is automatically deducted when you receive your funds. However, you may not have to pay DIRT. Further information on DIRT exemptions can be located on the Revenue website.
  • Earn a variable interest rate on the balance in a 40 Day Notice Savings account. Interest is paid on the first working day after 20 November each year and is subject to DIRT at the prevailing rate which is subject to change.
