AsIAm’s Same Chance Walk for Autism, proudly supported by PTSB

On Saturday 05 April, communities across Ireland came together for the Same Chance Walk for Autism, a nationwide event in support of Autistic people and their families which was proudly supported by PTSB.

Walks took place at flagship locations in Malahide Castle, Co. Dublin, and Lough Key Forest Park, Co. Roscommon, alongside local events in communities across the country.

We were delighted to have Presenter and Social Media star Eric Roberts as this year's Same Chance Walk ambassador, bringing his lived experienced as a former Special Needs Assistant (SNA) and personal connection to Autism advocacy to the initiative.

Whether you were walking solo, with friends, or with your local community, every step taken helped create a more inclusive Ireland.

1 in 27 people in Ireland are Autistic, yet many still face barriers to education, employment, and community life. The Same Chance Walk for Autism is your opportunity to stand in solidarity and raise essential funds for AsIAm, Ireland’s Autism Charity.

Together, we took steps towards a more inclusive Ireland – one where every Autistic person has the same chance to reach their full potential.

PTSB announces a three-year partnership with AsIAm, Ireland’s Autism Charity

In September 2024, PTSB announced a multi-year partnership with AsIAm, enabling the charity to further support autistic customers and families and to promote and drive greater inclusivity in Irish society.

In addition to the partnership announcement, PTSB was pleased to become the first bank in Ireland to receive Autism-Friendly branch accreditation in key locations across the country.

The Autism-Friendly accreditation has been received because these branches meet the following AsIAm criteria:

  • A minimum of 90% of front-facing staff have been trained in ‘Understanding Autism’ and ‘Supporting Autistic Customers & their Families’
  • A sensory and accessibility audit and evaluation has been carried out in each branch
  • PTSB has designed and published a sensory map for each branch, which is being made available both online and in-branch
  • PTSB has created a Charter of Inclusion for each branch outlining short, medium and long-term goals and recording relevant achievements in progressing towards these goals

PTSB is currently working towards achieving accreditation in additional branches nationwide.
