How do I remove the Gambling Block?

If you decide to turn Gambling Block off, you can do this in the app where you enabled the feature. It requires 48 hours notice for the block to be removed. This notice is designed to support customers with problem gambling, allowing them time for reflection before the block is removed.

After 48-hours, Gambling Block will be lifted from your card automatically. You can then enable the Gambling Block at any time.

Exactly what transactions are blocked by Gambling Block when I have the feature turned on? Does Gambling Block work for both online and physical gambling transactions?

Gambling Block is designed to stop your card from being used at:

  • Online betting websites
  • In-store bookmakers
  • Casino and gaming services
  • Lottery services
  • Sports betting providers
  • Other gambling related merchants

Gambling related merchants are identified through “Merchant Category Codes” which are used to classify merchants and businesses by the type of goods or services they provide.

Gambling Block only applies to Credit and Debit Card transactions and as such may not cover all types of gambling payments or payment platforms if a merchant has not classified themselves as a gambling merchant.
