On Sunday 05 October 2025, the European SEPA Schemes will undergo a mandatory change which will require PTSB, along with other Irish participating banks, to update their payment processing systems.

As a result of this, PTSB incoming SEPA credit transfer payments may experience delays over the weekend of Friday 03 to Sunday 05 October 2025.

How will this affect payments?

This means that incoming SEPA Classic payments (Euro payments across Ireland and the EU) usually received by PTSB on the evening of Friday 03 October will be received and credited to the beneficiary account by Monday morning 06 October. This differs to conventional weekend payment processing whereby customers would normally have access to funds over the weekend.

Please note: Transactions between two PTSB accounts are not affected.

The above change is not related to SEPA Instant Credit Transfers or Verification of Payee initiatives.
