Tuesday 1 May 2018 is a European bank holiday although a normal banking day in Ireland. As such, no electronic Euro payments can be sent to other Banks both in Ireland and abroad on that day given that the European Clearing System is closed.

All electronic Euro credit transfer payments initiated on Open24 and Business 24 after 12.00 and after 13.00 for SWIFT in branches on Monday 30 April will not be received by the Beneficiary Bank until Wednesday 2 May.

Employers, for example, who normally pay weekly salaries on the first of the month, should submit their payments by Friday 27 April to ensure that beneficiary bank receives the payment on Monday 30 April.

Standing orders with a due date of the 1 May will be with the Beneficiary Bank on the 2 May.

Accounts transfers between two permanent tsb accounts are not affected.

All non Euro currency payments will be sent as normal as these are not affected by the European Payments Bank Holiday.
